    A bill recently introduced in the California Assembly, <a href="http://www.leginfo.ca.gov/pub/13-14/bill/asm/ab_0951-1000/ab_996_bill_20130222_introduced.pdf">AB 996,</a> would substantially change the operations and governance of the state's certified farmers markets, strengthening some enforcement provisions and weakening others.
