Foster Farms recalls nearly 40,000 pounds of frozen chicken

Foster Farms is recalling nearly 40,000 pounds of frozen, pre-cooked chicken produced in its Louisiana plant because of potential listeria contamination, federal inspectors said. The recall is for Chicken Breast Grilled Strips sold in 3.5-pound resealable bags. The chicken was produced on Aug. 5 and shipped to retailers in California, Texas, Utah and Washington state, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service said Thursday.
