  11. Police: Harrisburg woman choked unconscious by man attempting to rape her

    A woman was assaulted in the Midtown area Monday by a man she knew from a local bar. Police say the victim was walking with William S. Jenkins, 47, of the 200 block of North 2nd Street, Harrisburg, when they stopped behind a business. She got into an argument with Jenkins and he became violent. He attacked the victim and choked her until she lost consciousness while trying to get her to engage in a sex act.  She fell to the ground and he was tearing at her as she regained consciousness. A passerby confronted Jenkins, and he walked away. The victim was also able to get away.
