  7. The sting of unintended slights

I'm sorry. Whatever I did, I apologize. Flog me, fine me, curse my name. But honest, I didn't mean to do it. You, too, have probably felt the dismay of discovering you've slighted someone without knowing it. Your victim may be someone you've never...

  9. You have no right to state workers' numbers

If you were ever shot down asking a pretty girl for her phone number, you're not alone. Trust me, they don't spill their digits to everyone who asks. I bet few people would confuse state bureaucrats for beauty queens, but it's not easy getting their...

  15. First rule of work email: Don't email

    Sometimes I don't think we deserve e-mail.
Sometimes I don't think we deserve e-mail. It's a tool of immeasurable importance in today's working world, yet we're wildly cavalier with it, firing off mistake-riddled missives as recklessly as a wound-up 5-year-old with a dart gun. For every...

  17. We are alienated by dependence on technology

    Arianna Huffington
In the 1840s, Benjamin Disraeli, still a long way from being prime minister, wanted to wake people up to the plight of the British working class -- and move them to act. The alarm he sounded wasn't delivered in a speech, a pamphlet, or an article -- but...

A local resident used Craigslist to advertise a bunk bed for sale at $425. Immediately he was contacted by a buyer and the bed was considered sold.
