1. Your closet: Where utility meets joy

Like an angel on one shoulder and a devil on the other, "need" versus "want" dominates our internal dialogue as we shop.
Like an angel on one shoulder and a devil on the other, "need" versus "want" dominates our internal dialogue as we shop. Just as in any relationship, we should heed both, said Stacy London, author, co-founder of Style for Hire and co-host of TLC's...

3. Stylists make the red carpet sizzle at Oscars

It's a pretty good bet that when stars arrive on the Oscar red carpet Sunday they'll be wearing clothes, jewelry and accessories selected with the help of a fashion stylist. And fans are more aware than ever that their idols don't create their looks alone.

At this week’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, we caught up with Maryland-based model Casandra Nicole, who is represented by THE Artist Agency in Washington, D.C., as well as top agencies in New York and Europe. 9. New York Fashion Week fall 2013: Jason Wu

NEW YORK --With a blizzard raging outside, Jason Wu presented his fall-winter collection 2013 Friday during New York Fashion Week, at a venue on swanky Park Avenue. And despite the ice pellets falling outside, the fashion pack soldiered on in spindle-thin stilettos and, in one case, a red evening gown with a particularly low decolletage.

11. 'Zero Dark Thirty's' Jessica Chastain in florals

Floral prints are making a big comeback this spring after having been in full bloom on the fall runways back in 2011 at Miu Miu, Givenchy and more. Featuring tropical Hawaiian breeds, orchids or classic daisies, some prints look as if they were plucked straight from the garden.

17. Sloane Stephens beats Serena Williams, plans trip to Jimmy Choo

Now that she's beaten Serena Williams in the quarterfinals at the Australian Open, 19-year-old American tennis player Sloane Stephens is planning to switch out her tennis shoes for a pair of Jimmy Choos. She says she will spend a portion of the $526,793 she won for reaching the semifinals on a pair of the coveted shoes -- but she's banking most of the rest of it. [Wall Street Journal]

21. Jason Wu surprised that Michelle Obama picked him twice

Designer Jason Wu was almost as surprised as everyone else that First Lady Michelle Obama once again chose one of his gowns for an inaugural ball. She wore a white one-shoulder gown he designed to her husband's first inauguration in 2009, and a ruby red Wu gown to the second inaugural ball on Monday. Wu says the White House didn't tell him until the last minute that his was the winning gown. "I'm floating," he was quoted as saying. [New York Times]

Alexis Mabille showed his first collection as an official haute couture house early Wednesday evening. The terms “couture” and "haute couture" may be bandied about in the U.S., but few design houses can describe themselves as such in France.
