Deputies say Theodore Gasper, 66, dialed 911 and told dispatchers that his Barberville neighbor threatened to pull a gun on him, reports The Daytona Beach News-Journal.

But there was a major hole in Gasper's story: Deputies determined the man he accused was a trucker on the road in Arkansas, according to a Volusia County Sheriff's Office report.

After his arrest, Gasper allegedly told deputies, "I am sorry for lying," and "I'll take my medicine for lying."

Jail will be a bitter pill to swallow.

Although, judging from his mug shot, laughter may be his best medicine.
