Vitor Coelho of Tampa took home the big loot in the main event of the Isle Casino and Racing's Battles at the Beach last month.

The top three players negotiated a chop, based on chip count. The main event, which carried a $500,000 guaranteed prize pool, cost $3,300 to enter and drew 164 players.

For those of you who follow poker on a grander scale, Coelho has been running crazy-hot, with four big cashes totalling $278,452 in World Poker Tour main events this year. That includes a fourth-place finish for $75,105 in Jacksonville and a fifth for $159,224 in the Bellagio's Five Diamond World Poker Classic. He sits in second place in WPT player of the year standings behind Will Failla
