Shortstop Derek Jeter of the New York Yankees is back on the disabled list, this time because of a strained right calf.
The move Monday is the latest setback in an injury-filled season for Jeter, 39, who did not play Saturday or Sunday at San Diego. He appeared to take an awkward step while making a play in the Yankees' 7-2 loss to the Padres on Friday night. He also made an awkward slide into third base.
The Yankees recalled infielder Dave Adams from triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and designated infielder Brent Lillibridge for assignment.
