Angels about to broaden search for new general manager

The Angels have completed initial interviews with internal candidates for their vacant general manager's position, and they intend to look next at candidates from outside the organization. The team has interviewed assistant general managers Matt Klentak and Scott Servais. Jerry Dipoto, who resigned as general manager July 1, hired Klentak and Servais. As the Angels consider candidates from outside the organization, they plan to work first with the list they assembled when they hired Dipoto in 2011.
