I am a lifelong Cubs fan, and I'm one of those lifelong Cubs fans who equate the White Sox with the Green Bay Packers, St. Louis Cardinals and Miami Heat: You are the unseemly other, and I delight in your every failure.
After thousands of innings of...

Me, I’d have traded Matt Garza after the first inning in Pittsburgh when he survived a one-out walk and got a magnificent catch from Julio Borbon.
Or I might’ve cut the deal to send Garza to (your rotation here) after the second inning...

Chicago now has digested a month of uninspiring baseball on both sides of town. The reaction has me puzzled.
"It's going to be a long summer," seems to be the most common response from fans and the media.

MIAMI — Put this Marlins loss on Juan Pierre, he's willing to take it.

The pieces aren't in place yet for the Cubs, but the plan is and so is the braintrust. Whether Tom Ricketts, Theo Epstein and Dale Sveum will succeed remains a mystery, and the fact is there's more to be done. A lot more.
So on the cusp of Wrigley...

Unless Carlos Marmol gets involved, the Cubs still hope to close a deal with the city to renovate Wrigley Field by Monday's home opener.
Assuming the agreement can overcome a late-inning scare, planned improvements at the venerable 99-year-old...

Dale Sveum must be trying to get fired.
Or maybe the Cubs manager hates Cubs fans.
Or perhaps he’s an agent of evil sent by North Korea’s Kim Jong-un to destroy the Cubs because their legendary ineptitude and continued consignment to a...

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Jeff Samardzija struck out nine in eight nearly flawless innings and the Chicago Cubs held on for a 3-1 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Monday.
The right-hander allowed just two hits and walked one as Chicago won on...
