Tuesday's recap: Cubs 5, Reds 4

The Cubs beat the Reds 5-4 Tuesday night at Wrigley Field to gain a game on the Pirates for the first National League wild-card spot. They're 41/2 games behind after the Pirates lost to the Brewers. At the plate Kyle Schwarber's two-out, two-run homer to left put the Cubs on top in seventh. Kris Bryant had three hits and two RBIs. Miguel Montero's RBI single tied the game in the sixth. On the mound Starter Dan Haren lasted only five innings, allowing two runs on four hits, including a home run to Joey Votto with two outs in the first.
