Tigers' Miguel Cabrera expected to miss six weeks with calf strain

Detroit Tigers All-Star first baseman Miguel Cabrera was placed on the 15-day disabled list Saturday and is expected to miss six weeks with a left calf strain. Cabrera suffered the injury in the fourth inning of an 8-6 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays on Friday. This is the first time in his 13-year career that Cabrera has been put on the disabled list. Tigers Manager Brad Ausmus told reporters Cabrera is expected to miss six weeks after an MRI scan revealed he had a Grade 3 calf strain.
