Baseball notes: Atlanta rotation takes another hit, losing Gavin Floyd

Atlanta put pitcher Gavin Floyd on the disabled list because of a broken bone in his right elbow, the latest setback to the Braves' jumbled rotation. Floyd suffered the unusual injury — to the olecranon, the bony tip of the ulna that sticks out at the curve of the elbow — while pitching against Washington on Thursday. Detroit reliever Joel Zumaya had a similar injury in 2010 and never pitched in the big leagues again; he tore a ligament in his elbow while attempting a comeback during spring training in 2012.
