The Texas Rangers put struggling left-hander Derek Holland on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday, and later said Colby Lewis would join him because he won't be able to throw for four weeks because of a lat muscle strain.
Lewis had cramping in his right arm while pitching five innings in a loss to Cincinnati on Tuesday night. General Manager Jon Daniels said an MRI revealed the strain and that Lewis was headed to the DL.
Holland allowed 11 of 23 Baltimore batters he faced to reach base in 41/3 innings Monday night. He has given up 13 runs over 131/3 innings his past three starts.
