All-Star forward Carmelo Anthony of the New York Knicks has opted to undergo surgery on his troublesome left knee and will miss the rest of the NBA season, the team announced Wednesday. The Knicks said the surgery will include a left knee patella tendon debridement and repair. Phil Jackson, president of the Knicks, said the surgery will be performed later this week. Anthony has missed 13 games this season because of knee soreness and other ailments, and many expected him to end his season after last weekend's All-Star Game at Madison Square Garden.
