9. NBA Finals: Spurs score style points, three at a time, rout Heat

SAN ANTONIO — Who said the San Antonio Spurs couldn't have a good time? And show a little flash? They ran up, down and over the Miami Heat, 113-77, in Game 3 of the NBA Finals Tuesday night, discarding their bland, vanilla reputation for...

  11. Five takeaways from Spurs-Heat in Game 3 of the NBA Finals

    1. LeBron James is human. The Miami superstar missed 11 of his first 13 shots on the way to 15 points during the Heat's 113-77 beatdown in Game 3 of the Finals, hardly resembling the player who has had a season for the ages. James made only seven of 21 shots, including one of five from three-point range. Credit Kawhi Leonard’s defense and blame James for stumbling badly on basketball's biggest stage. To put James’ series-long struggles in perspective, San Antonio’s Danny Green has scored six more points in the first three games of the Finals than James has. That’s the same Green who was cut by the Cleveland Cavaliers after being a teammate of James’. James’ minus-32 rating in Game 3 was the worst plus-minus figure he has posted in any game in his career, including both regular season and the playoffs. Something for James to consider (or maybe not): A loss in this series would drop him to 1-3 in the Finals. Not exactly the stuff of legends.

  15. NBA Finals: Five takeaways from Heat's big Game 2 win over Spurs

    1. This is going to be a long series. Eva Longoria's Spurs-in-five-games exuberance after Game 1 aside, most everyone figured the NBA Finals would return to Miami for at least Game 6. The Heat is making its third consecutive Finals appearance and is not going to be quickly brushed aside. This isn't the short-handed Lakers that San Antonio is facing.

  23. Lakers aren't good-looking, but they'll have fun while it lasts

On the first night of the rest of their season, the Lakers without Kobe Bryant looked like Steve Blake's bright purple low-cut sneakers.
