1. Texans' Williams should be Bears' top free-agent target

A little more than a month after the Bears professed to be re-emphasizing the draft, they likely are about to make it rain in free agency.
A little more than a month after the Bears professed to be re-emphasizing the draft, they likely are about to make it rain in free agency. But that's good because this is an unusual year in free agency. Typically, the market mostly offers players who are...

5. Matt Vensel's 2012 NFL mock draft -- version 3.0

The 2012 NFL draft is three weeks away, and though most teams have solidified their draft boards barring a few tweaks after prospects visit, the “silly season” of draft rumors is really starting to heat up. Need an example? How about the...

7. Reader Q&A: Dan Pompei's Bears mailbag

I know that the Bears are on the hook for a lot of money with Julius Peppers, but wouldn't it make sense for them to acquire Mario Williams? The Peppers and Williams combination would be unblockable, and would severely limit the high powered offense of Rogers and Stafford. Also, it would require them to keep their TE's at the line to pass protect, rather than killing us the way that Jermichael Finley routinely does. Despite our glaring need for a WR, in my opinion our team is way better with Mario Williams than any other combination of free agents or draft picks, and we'd be set with a good pass rush for several years. Do you agree? -- Jon Litwin, Chicago

9. NFL free agency primer: cornerbacks

A year ago, Ravens fans dreamed of Nnamdi Asomugha, the star free agent cornerback who eventually signed with the Philadelphia Eagles. After all, the secondary was an area where the Ravens needed to improve.

11. Matt Vensel's 2012 NFL mock draft -- version 2.0

After a wild first week in free agency that was punctuated with Peyton Manning signing with the Denver Broncos, we have a better idea of what needs teams will address in April’s NFL draft. So now seems like a good time for our second mock draft of the offseason. (This mock draft does not account for potential trades.)
