Every morning, Monday through Friday, blogger Matt Vensel will hook you up with reading material -- mostly on the Ravens but with some other Baltimore sports stuff, too -- to skim through as you slug down coffee and slack off at the start of your workday. That way he’ll have an excuse to do the same to start his workday, too.

  7. Burning questions for the AFC North's four teams

With three teams making the playoffs and two winning 12 games during the regular season, the AFC North was arguably the NFL’s most competitive division last season. Unfortunately for the Ravens, it figures to be hyper-competitive again in 2012 -- well, except for anything involving the ever-rebuilding Cleveland Browns.

Sixteen guys have walked in Dan Marino's shoes. By comparison, for the Miami Dolphins, it's been like trading in the ruby slippers from "The Wizard of Oz" for sandals from Payless. There is nothing truly special about Damon Huard, Jay Fiedler, Ray...

  11. College Football Countdown: No. 23 Oklahoma State

The Orlando Sentinel has ranked all 120 Football Bowl Subdivision teams in the country. The Sentinel staff will take a closer look at a new team daily, counting backward from No. 120 to our projected No. 1 team. We will not be including the four teams the NCAA lists as still reclassifying to the Football Bowl Subdivision level.

  13. Did Joe Flacco set standard for young quarterbacks?

When the Ravens used a first-round pick in the 2008 NFL draft to select Joe Flacco, little did anybody know that he would become the only starting quarterback in NFL history to reach the playoffs in each of his first four seasons.

  23. Newsome: Ravens' rivals made AFC North 'that much tougher'

The Ravens came into the 2012 NFL draft looking to round out their roster and add depth and create competition at several positions. They appear to have addressed all of their immediate needs, even if they made a few interesting selections Saturday. Linebacker Courtney Upshaw may end up being a steal and Kelechi Osemele and Gino Gradkowski bring athleticism and versatility to the offensive line.
