1. Ravens scouting report Ravens vs. Steelers

PASSING GAME: Quarterback Joe Flacco couldn't get much done against the Pittsburgh Steelers two weeks ago as he completed 20 of 32 passes for 164 yards and no touchdowns. Pittsburgh cornerback Ike Taylor held Torrey Smith, the Ravens' top downfield threat, to one 7-yard catch, even though Smith was targeted seven times. The Ravens passing attack is ranked 11th in the NFL, but only one team (the Dallas Cowboys) has held Flacco under 300 passing yards at M&T Bank Stadium this season.

3. This was an embarrassing loss to an ancient QB

The Ravens were fortunate that Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger didn't play Sunday because the score might have been worse.

At times this season, Ravens players and coaches have talked about how the offense is a work in progress.
At times this season, Ravens players and coaches have talked about how the offense is a work in progress. How much work that unit has to do was evident in the final 16 minutes, 52 seconds of the team's 23-20 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers at M&T Bank...

7. It's time for Flacco to step up in big games

You could feel the love from the opening kickoff.
You could feel the love from the opening kickoff. Even as Jacoby Jones took a knee in the end zone, things were getting chippy. Forearms were flying, shoves were traded and the Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers were exchanging the usual pleasantries that...

The Baltimore Sun
Ravens 16, Chargers 13 (OT) Strategy: Cam Cameron heavily utilized the shotgun formation, 51 times overall with 42 during regulation. This plays to Joe Flacco's strengths, allowing him to see the field and get the football out of his hands despite...

11. Road to AFC North title looks smooth

I am about to do something in this space that John Harbaugh hates. It's something that actually makes the Ravens coach wince when you do it in front of him, which I try not to do out of common courtesy. But here goes: I'm about to look down the road...

It's entirely possibly that I'm fudging the online trends this morning to give more weight to news of a monkey in fancy coat wandering around an Ikea. It is just that depressing today and who knows if even Ikea monkey can counteract this clinical case of Mondays.
