Baseball: Edison defeats Huntington Beach in the 12th inning, 6-5

It was special night for Sunset League rivals Edison and Huntington Beach to play their league opener on Thursday at Angel Stadium. Then it became even more memorable when the game kept going on and on well past 11 p.m.  into the bottom of the 12th inning. That's when Edison (11-1, 1-0) loaded the bases with none out on singles by Michael Mahony and Jake Scott and a walk to Kevin Inman. Then Kevin Ando gave the Chargers a 6-5 victory with a walk-off RBI single. Nick Mailman led the Chargers with three hits. Tyler Murray had three hits for Huntington Beach.
