  1. Ravens practice highlights: Sacks aplenty in Annapolis

    <strong>SACKS GALORE</strong> The defense's ability to apply pressure got off to a modest start when defensive end Pernell McPhee tagged quarterback Joe Flacco. But the pass rush really ramped up during a two-minute exercise during which backup quarterback Tyrod Taylor was whistled down five times in six plays. The other play resulted in a Hail Mary from Taylor to rookie wide receiver Tommy Streeter getting deflected by strong safety Sean Considine and intercepted by inside linebacker Jameel McClain.

  3. Ravens camp highlights, Webb continues interception streak

    <strong>USING THEIR HANDS </strong>The secondary was particularly active in getting a hand on passes. Cornerbacks Jimmy Smith and Chykie Brown deflected two passes each, and outside linebacker Sergio Kindle tipped a Tyrod Taylor pass intended for rookie wide receiver Dorian Graham in the end zone. At one point, offensive coordinator Cam Cameron yelled at the offensive players on the sideline, &ldquo;They&rsquo;re reaching for the ball, and we&rsquo;re not! Reach for the ball!&rdquo;

  5. LaQuan Williams gathers teammates for local charity event

    Ravens receiver LaQuan Williams ran 10 yards, cut hard to the right, caught the ball and scored. Except this time Williams added two points to the board, not six. For one of the first times in his career, Williams didn't care much about winning (even...

  7. Who is left out on the NFL's free agent market?

    Two weeks out from their first practice of training camp, the Ravens have just $606,858 available under the salary cap if they hope to, as they seem to do every year, acquire a key veteran before the start of this season. Of course, they could potentially free up more wiggle room by negotiating a long-term extension with running back Ray Rice or by releasing a pricey veteran this summer (<a href="http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d82a72793/article/bryant-mckinnie-is-a-potential-ravens-camp-casualty" target="_blank">maybe Bryant McKinnie, as NFL.com speculates</a>?).

  9. Continuity will be key for the Ravens offense

    The most significant offensive additions the Ravens made this offseason were free-agent wide receiver Jacoby Jones and a pair of rookie linemen in Kelechi Osemele and Gino Gradkowski. Their personnel losses include Pro Bowl guard Ben Grubbs and veteran backups in running back Ricky Williams and wide receiver Lee Evans.

  13. Last year's Ravens rookies finally get their offseason coaching

    The season was a whirlwind for the Ravens' 2011 class of rookies.
    The season was a whirlwind for the Ravens' 2011 class of rookies. It swept them up when the NFL lockout ended last July and dropped them at The Castle in Owings Mills a day later for their first training camp. It carried them through a 12-4 season all...

  15. Baltimore native LaQuan Williams fighting to keep Ravens roster spot

    The continued development of second-year wide receiver Torrey Smith has been evident at the team&rsquo;s two organized team activities that were open to media. Tandon Doss, who has buffed up a bit, has also caught my eye. And then there&rsquo;s LaQuan Williams, now in his second NFL season, who continues to exceed expectations.

  17. Ravens news and notes after second OTA

    I feel like I have to preface every one of these post-OTA observation blogs by offering the reminder that drawing any conclusions from these workouts would be foolish on my part. Still, some players clearly make a bigger impression than others and I can say without hesitation that nobody stood out more in yesterday&rsquo;s session than second-year wide receiver <strong>LaQuan Williams</strong>. First of all, conditioning was not the issue for him, but Williams looks even leaner and much more explosive than he did during his rookie season. And during drills, Williams showed great speed and tremendous hands, even making a one-handed catch in traffic at one point on a <strong>Joe Flacco</strong> pass. Williams also beat <strong>Lardarius Webb </strong>on a couple of occasions along the sideline. With 12 receivers on the Ravens&rsquo; roster and the addition of several accomplished special teams players, Williams likely faces another uphill battle to make the team. But something tells me that&rsquo;s just the way he wants it and he&rsquo;s more than up for the challenge.

  19. New defensive coordinator Dean Pees says Ravens can overcome injury to Terrell Suggs

    <b>Dean Pees</b> has been through this before.
