  1. Reactions to Paterno due process column are amazingly supportive, 10-to-1

The anticipated tsunami of righteous rage never hit the shore. Instead, there was a flood of support for a decidedly divergent viewpoint, on Sunday, holding that Joe Paterno never received the due process he should have had before being vilified.

  3. What's next for Mike McQueary?

    Nittany Lines

  5. Penn State Fined $60M, Banned From Bowl Games For 4 Years

The NCAA slapped Penn State University with a staggering fine of $60,000,000 and imposed severe penalties on its storied football program, in the wake of the Jerry Sandusky child molestation scandal.  The “Division One” football team will  be banned from all “post-season” play for four years, and all of its wins from 1998-2011 will be erased from the record books.   That’s the period when the late Hall of Fame coach, Joe Paterno—and university officials in State College, Pennsylvania--apparently started turning a “blind eye” on indicators that former defensive coordinator, Jerry Sandusky, was sexually abusing boys in campus locker rooms and showers.

The emails were obtained by CNN show some signs of a cover-up after the 2001 shower incident involving Sandusky and a young boy. These emails involve some of the highest r anking officials at Penn State including former President Graham Spanier. The emails also mention Joe Paterno. The three days of correspondence tried to figure out how to deal with the 2001 shower incident reported by Mike McQueary. After some back and forth, the three decided to handle the situation internally. It's a decision that could be very damaging to these three men and Penn State University.
