5. Ravens hope to follow historical trend and find value with 32nd selection

Three months after winning their first Super Bowl in 1983, the Washington Redskins received another reward. With the 28th and final selection in the first round of the 1983 NFL draft, and one pick after the Miami Dolphins grabbed a strong-armed quarterback from Pittsburgh named Dan Marino, the Redskins settled on an undersized but lightning-quick cornerback out of Texas A&M-Kingsville.

11. Monday's EDitorial: Saints Season Has Legs

Don't look now, but the Saints 2012 season has legs.
Don't look now, but the Saints 2012 season has legs. If the Saints win at Oakland Sunday, they reach the five hundred mark at 5 wins, 5 losses. And more importantly, they would be only one game out of the six spot in the NFC standings. Seattle and...

13. Saints defense & offense come together to beat the Eagles 28-13

It was a "must win" for the Saints Monday night, and win they did: 28-13 over the Philadelphia Eagles.

It was a "must win" for the Saints Monday night, and win they did: 28-13 over the Philadelphia Eagles. The Saints have now won 3 of their last 4 games after an 0-and-4 start. The defense made plenty of big plays against the Eagles: in the first quarter,...

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints picked up a much-needed win.
AP National Writer
NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints picked up a much-needed win. For Michael Vick and the Philadelphia Eagles, more misery. Brees threw two touchdown passes, extending his NFL record streak to 51 games, and Patrick...

17. FSU can thank Bert Reed for creating cover corner Xavier Rhodes

TALLAHASSEE -- Bert Reed could talk some serious trash. He loved doing it, too. Trash talk let the receiver know that he was emotionally invested into the ballgame he was playing, and inside the mind of whoever was lined up against him.

Opening Statement: “(It’s a) tough place to play in Green Bay at Lambeau Field. I almost think if you win that game it should count as two wins. I know you have visited with Aaron (Kromer) already today and he talked a little about that. Having said that, I am disappointed that defensively we weren’t able to limit them to one less touchdown. That’s really the way I wrap it up. The one that sticks out is the second quarter drive where it began on the eight yard line and we did have them stopped but they had the fake punt and got it back. Then we had two penalties after that that kept the ball going for them - a face mask and a holding. Anytime you give a good football team extra yards with penalties that hurts.
