'Hills Bandit' of O.C. robs bank in Carlsbad, FBI says

A bandit suspected of robbing three banks in Orange County struck in Carlsbad on Tuesday, the FBI said. The robber, described as a white male, 45 to 50 years old, about 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing 190 pounds, struck the U.S. Bank in Carlsbad by displaying a demand note warning employees that he had a gun, although none was seen. The same man is suspected of robbing a Wells Fargo Bank in Laguna Hills in May, a Citi Bank in Laguna Hills in July and another Citi Bank in Lake Forest, also in July. The FBI has dubbed the man the Hills Bandit due to the earlier cases. He might also be described as the pro football fan bandit -- in each of his robberies, he has worn a hat either...
