Kings, Rangers split regular-season games

The Kings and New York Rangers met two times during the regular season, each winning games on the road: RANGERS 3, KINGS 1 Oct. 7, 2013 at Staples Center New York's Brad Richards scored twice and Ryan McDonagh got a fluke 180-foot short-handed goal. With the Kings on the power play, Rangers center Brian Boyle won a faceoff in the New York zone, and defenseman McDonagh shot the puck off the boards. The puck ricocheted toward the Kings' net and a stumbling Jonathan Quick, who had lost his stick.
