Share |Research out of Northwestern and Harvard Universities has revealed some interesting news about happiness in the United States. In a study named, "Pulse of the Nation: US Mood Throughout the Day Inferred From Twitter," the researchers determined the happiness of Americans based on the time of day. The results were somewhat surprising. Americans seem to be happiest in the early morning, right before work and in the evening after work. The after work happiness doesn't surprise me, but who really enjoys getting ready to face an 8 hour work day? Results also showed that Americans are happiest on Sunday mornings and the least happy on Thursdays.
The study also showed that the West coast tends to be much happier than the East coast. But there's really no surprise there. Sunshine, surf, and mild weather all year round, what's not to be happy about, except being stuck in traffic occasionally?
For everyone in the Midwest and East coast, chin up, and just tweet happy thoughts!
