A big rig hauling molasses gummed up the morning commute around downtown early Wednesday after colliding with another vehicle on the southbound 5 Freeway near Boyle Heights. Authorities shut down the southbound transition to the westbound 10 Freeway after the vehicle that collided with the truck overturned, backing up traffic beyond the 110 Freeway as crews worked to clean up the mess. The number of injuries involved in the crash could not immediately be confirmed.
