Rim fire sends heavy smoke into Yosemite; visitors warned

The Rim fire burning in and around Yosemite National Park grew overnight, with smoke causing air quality issues inside the park. The fire burned an additional 8,000 acres over the last day and has now consumed 231,000 acres. It's 60% contained. "Smoke from the Rim Fire has settled into Yosemite Valley, Wawona, Foresta and other areas, causing air quality impacts," Inciweb reported. "This will persist for the next few days, particularly in the morning hours."
