The city's trendiest spots were swarming with celebrities from the sports and entertainment world this past Lollapalooza weekend — from what I hear. I didn't actually see too many. 13. Palomar goes for luxury

With the Palomar, the latest addition to its Chicago line, Kimpton eschews the chic boutique concept for more luxury than one would expect. Rooms are larger (they start at 325 square feet) and come outfitted in a palette of gold and cranberry with blue and white linens. The armoires, desks and vanities are made from dark Brazilian cherry oak. Upgraded "spa rooms" sport deep soaking tubs and unobstructed cityscapes.
