It's time now for a trip through the single A ranks.  The Glenvar Highlanders haven't lost since a season opening overtime setback at the hands of Galax.  But the schedule is about to get a whole lot tougher, starting tonight at Covington.
The early rain showers gave way to a beautiful a night in the Highlands.
The Cougars get the ball to start the game, but quarterback Troy Helton gets sacked by Cameron Wynn for a huge loss on fourth down and Glenvar took over.
The Highlanders wasted no time moving the ball as Brad Muse takes the handoff and darts down the far side for a 31 yard gain into Covington territory.
Five plays later Jacob Mabry finds Virginia Tech Seth Dooley for the early touchdown pass. It was 7-nothing Glenvar.
Later in the second quarter, Mabry again looks to the air and delivers the rollout pass to Tyler Haynie for a long 52 yard gain all the way down to the 10 yard line of Covington.
2 plays later, the Highlanders Ean Cole slides through the defense for the touchdown.
Glenvar takes out Covington 40 to 10.
