NEW ORLEANS—The New Orleans Voodoo is first in the American Conference South Division, and last in placekicking.
The Voodoo tried to solve this week by signing its 4th kicker this season. The club signed Gary Cismesia who's last stop was for the Omaha Beef of the Indoor Football League.
Cismesia was practicing Tuesday morning with the Voodoo at Pan American Stadium.
New Orleans has converted only 71 of 98 point after touchdown attempts, lowest success rate in the league.
I asked O'Hara about his new kicker after practice. "Who's the new kicker?" I asked. Said O'Hara, " His name is kicker, and he's our fourth kicker. So once he can make em through, we will give him a name. His name is Gary Sismisia. He just came out of the IFL. He was first team all IFL. So, we got the best game ready guy we could and hopefully the fourth guy will be the charm, Ed. How do you spell the last name? I don't he's kicker. K I C K E R."
New Orleans hosts Jacksonville Saturday night. The teams are tied for the division lead with four games to play.
