CHICAGO—Exhaustion. That is what the offices of Jesse Jackson Jr are saying about the 2nd District Congressman who has been receiving treatment since Sunday, June 10th.
The first anyone is hearing about it is Monday when his spokesperson said the Jackson family is asking for their privacy, but the congressman's offices remain open.
That same year it came out that Nayak paid for a woman in Washington DC to fly to Chicago to see Jackson Jr.. He was having a relationship with the woman. More recently, the U.S. House Ethics Committee has been investigating Jackson Jr. at the behest of Robert Blagojevich, brother and co-defendant during Rod Blagojevich's corruption trial.
Adding to the pressure, Jackson Jr. is in the middle of an election with four months to go. While his current Republican opponent says he will be praying for Jackson Jr. and his family, former opponent Debbie Halvorson says "exhaustion" is a cover up. She says Jackson Jr. has been running from his problems and his responsibilities for years.
In the last 2 weeks, numerous press releases have issued from Jackson's office- even quoting him. Chicago Tribune reporter Rick Pearson says constituents deserve some answers.
