WANTAGH, N.Y. (WPIX)—A Long Island woman was arrested and charged after she drive another woman to an apparent drug transaction while having four children in the car, police announced Monday.
According to authorities, Cynthia Carter, 49, of Bay Shore and Tamisha Kilpatrick, 21, of Central Islip were taken into custody Sunday.
Police say on Sept 14. Carter drove Kilpatrick to a location in Wantagh where she attempted to sell crack, and the children - all under the age of 17 - were in the car at the time of the transaction.
The relationships between Carter and the children were not immediately clear.
Carter was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and fourth degree criminal facilitation, while Kilpatrick was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal sale of a controlled substance, police said.
The pair were scheduled to be arraigned Monday in First District Court in Hempstead.
