WHAT: Sendoff for the York Revolution for fans and media as the team departs to Long Island for Games 1 & 2 of the Atlantic League Championship Series
WHERE: Queen Street parking lot at Sovereign Bank Stadium
DETAILS: With help from the York Revolution Fan Club the team's front office has organized a send-off for the players and coaching staff, as their bus departs for Central Islip, New York for Games 1 & 2 of the Atlantic League Championship Series on Wednesday and Thursday.
The defending Atlantic League Champion York Revolution will continue defense of their title against the Long Island Ducks in a best-of-five series. Games 3, 4 & 5 of the series will be at Sovereign Bank Stadium in York this Friday through Sunday. All fans who would like to wish the team well are welcome to the Queen Street parking lot at the stadium's back end near the Revolution clubhouse tomorrow morning beginning at 8:30 a.m. The players will be boarding the bus between 8:45 and 9 a.m., when it is scheduled to depart.
Any and all media are also invited to this event. Revolution front office staff will be available for comment. Players and coaches will also be available for brief interviews if needed. If need be, that can be arranged upon arrival with Paul Braverman, Promotions & Communications Manager.
The Revolution qualified once again for the Atlantic League Championship Series by besting the rival Lancaster Barnstormers with a 3-2 series win in the divisional round of the playoffs, just as they did last year against the Somerset Patriots. The Revs went on to capture their first championship in franchise history with a three-game sweep of the Bridgeport Bluefish.
The York Revolution Professional Baseball Club is a member of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball. 2010 marked the franchise's first league championship, in just its fourth year of operation.
