Mishawaka, Indiana (May 3, 2013) - Michiana Hematology Oncology’s network of Advanced Centers for Cancer Care is giving local residents the chance to save lives by donating blood.
From 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on Tuesday May 7, Michiana Hematology Oncology’s Advanced Center for Cancer Care in Mishawaka is hosting a blood drive for the South Bend Medical Foundation. The event is intended to raise community awareness of how important giving blood is to those battling cancer. The event will take place in the parking lot of the Advanced Center for Cancer Care at 5340 Holy Cross Parkway in Mishawaka.
Many patients with cancer rely on blood donations as part of their treatment.
South Bend Medical Foundation provides blood products for Michiana Hematology Oncology patients.
Established in 1968, Michiana Hematology Oncology’s network of Advanced Centers for Cancer Care is the largest cancer care organization of its kind in northern Indiana. The organization consists of eight medical oncologists, four radiation oncologists, two gynecologic oncologists and seven advanced practice nurses who provide integrated and comprehensive medical, radiation and gynecologic oncology services for patients throughout the region.
