Estranged wife of former UTC CEO to testify
HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - A 36-year-old Swedish countess, the estranged wife of United Technologies Corp. Chairman George David, is due on the witness stand in her bid for a higher cash payout.
Marie Douglas-David is scheduled to testify Friday in Hartford Superior Court in the third day of the contentious trial.
David wants a judge to enforce a 2005 post-nuptial agreement he had with Douglas-David to give her $43 million when they divorce.
Douglas-David is seeking about $99 million - 30 percent of David's estimated $330 million fortune - and has requested nearly $390,000 in legal fees. An alimony issue has been resolved.
