Police are investigating the Wednesday night shooting of a taxi driver in New Haven. The male taxi driver is in serious condition.
At 11 p.m., Officer's responded the area of 143 Poplar St on a report of a person shot. Police said that a taxi driver was shot on Poplar St., but crashed his taxi at the intersection of Grand Ave. and Bright St. The driver was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital and is listed in Serious condition.
Police say the victim is 27 years old and was shot in the abdomen.
As of 10am he was in stable condiditon.
