SOUTH BEND---Joe Tiller will be 1-for-South Bend.
The coach's final trip to Notre Dame ends like many others during his era at Purdue, as the Boilers fell 38-21 at Notre Dame Stadium.
"(Notre Dame)Coach (Charlie) Weis invited me to come back as a guest coach next year, so I'll probably be here," said Tiller of the stadium where he finished with a record of 1-5 at Notre Dame Stadium.
Curtis Painter threw for a season high 359 yards, including a long touchdown to receiver Desmond Tardy in the third quarter to make the score 28-21.
But Jimmy Clausen had an answer all day, and this time responded with a 30 yard touchdown pass to David Grimes that put the Irish (3-1) in command.
Clausen burned the Boilers (2-2) for a career-high 275 yards and three touchdowns in his best perfomance in his young Notre Dame career.
