That was a tweet sent out 5:06 p.m. from Colts' punter Pat McAfee's Twitter account (@PatMcAfeeShow) Tuesday afternoon with a picture of several Indianapolis Colts shaving their heads in honor of Head Coach Chuck Pagano.
Former Indianapolis Colt and now current director of player engagement Matt Thornton came up with the idea, bringing in the barbers after the team's practice on Tuesday.
Pagano, who is currently battling leukemia, gave an emotional speech to his players Sunday afternoon, following the team's 23-20 victory over the Miami Dolphins Sunday afternoon. To end the speech, Pagano told the team the following:
"My vision that I'm living to see two more daughters get married, dance at their weddings and then host that Lombardi several times. I'm dancin' at two more weddings and we're hosting that trophy together men."
Fox59 Sports confirmed that 20 to 30 players, a coach, and members of the staff had their heads shaved. The players include Pat McAfee, Adam Vinatieri, Matt Overton and Cory Redding.
Reports came out on Monday that Pagano's leukemia is currently in remission and there is the possibility of him returning to the sidelines for the team's season finale on December 30. Pagano is set to undergo a second round of chemotherapy this week.
