The two-time Indy 500 winner was reportedly drag racing another car in his suburban at 3 a.m. and was going over 100 mph.
Unser was charged with reckless driving and DWI.
He was released on his own recognizance.
This is not Unser’s first run-in with the law.
In 2002, Unser got drunk and was arrested for hitting his girlfriend and leaving her on the side of an Indianapolis highway.
Five years later, Unser was charged with drunken driving after his SUV sideswiped another car on a Nevada interstate. His blood alcohol level was at .22, nearly three times the legal limit.
