CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. (AP) - A Wabash College freshman from Arizona was found dead over the weekend in his fraternity house.
Eighteen-year-old Johnny D. Smith of Tucson was found dead at the Delta Tau Delta fraternity yesterday morning. Smith's mother, Stacy Smith, told The Indianapolis Star that her son was found face down in a pool of vomit.
Crawfordsville Police Chief Kurt Knecht says authorities suspect that alcohol was involved, but are waiting for autopsy results and toxicology tests. The coroner says an autopsy is scheduled later this week and toxicology tests could take about a month to complete.
Wabash College president Patrick White says the school is mourning Smith's death. The 900-student, all-male college is about 40 miles northwest of Indianapolis.
