Hilary Duff will play the title role in the indie teen romance "Greta."
Produced by Whitewater Films, "Greta" will also star Evan Ross, Michael Murphy and Oscar winner Ellen Burstyn.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, "Greta" focuses on a young waitress who embarks on a romance with an ambitious chef (Ross). Her grandparents (Burstyn and Murphy) have their concerns about the boy's criminal past.
Michael Gilvary wrote the script, which will be directed by Nancy Bardawil.
Duff's film credits include "Material Girls," Cheaper by the Dozen," "The Perfect Man" and "Raise Your Voice," while Ross has appeared in "ATL" and "Pride."
