Knowing that Jack Black has the title role as the traveler thrown off course to end up towering over tiny Lilliputians, you can pretty much expect this isn't your father's "Gulliver."
Indeed, the original Jonathan Swift story is contoured to Black's very contemporary humor as he plays a would-be columnist stranded on an island, where he becomes the big man ... in every sense of the phrase. Emily Blunt also stars as one of the micro-sized residents, with Amanda Peet and Jason Segel also in the cast. DVD extras: theatrical trailer; four "making-of" documentaries; deleted scenes; outtakes. ** (PG: P, V) (Also on Blu-ray)
