Julie Gonzalo, a regular on "Veronica Mars" last season, will be back on TV in 2008, this time at ABC.
Gonzalo has joined the network's midseason drama "Eli Stone," making her the third former "Mars" regular to join a new series this season. Elsewhere, Billy Burke ("Fracture") has joined NBC's pilot "Backyards & Bullets."
"Eli Stone" stars Jonny Lee Miller ("Smith," "Aeon Flux") as a corporate lawyer who starts having visions and wonders if he's a prophet. Gonzalo will play a young associate at his law firm, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Gonzalo played Parker Lee, Mac's (Tina Majorino) roommate at Hearst College, on "Veronica Mars" last season. Her credits also include "Dodgeball," "A Cinderella Story" and "Must Love Dogs." She also starred in an ABC comedy pilot called "The News" last spring.
She joins former castmates Chris Lowell (ABC's "Private Practice") and Jason Dohring (CBS' "Moonlight") on new shows for 2007-08.
Burke, meanwhile, has landed the lead role in "Backyards & Bullets," also known as "The Watch." He will play the beleaguered chief detective in a Wisconsin town where the neighborhood watch group has gone vigilante.
He starred in FOX's short-lived drama "The Jury" in 2004. He's also had a recurring part on "24" and appeared in the films "Ladder 49," "Along Came a Spider" and "The Fallen," which is due for release in the fall.
