Audrina Patridge has done enough acting on the reality series "The Hills" to think she's ready to move to the big screen, or at least to the direct-to-video screen.
Patridge has landed a role in "Into the Blue 2," a sequel to the 2005 underwater thriller which, despite the presence of Jessica Alba and Paul Walker in bathing suits, was a theatrical dud.
The formula will remain unchanged, as hard-bodies Chris Carmack ("The O.C.") and Laura Vandervoort ("Smallville") play a married treasure-diving couple looking for some loot hidden by Columbus. Bikinis and swimtrunks ensue.
Patridge will play "a no-nonsense beach beauty whose boyfriend caters to her every demand," according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Best known as "that woman from 'The Hills' who isn't Lauren, Whitney or Heidi," Patridge has transitioned from friend and neighbor to the role of Lauren Conrad's roommate and BFF over three seasons on the MTV hit. The cable network recently picked up a fourth season of "The Hills" to premiere in August.
Patridge professed outrage and embarrassment earlier this year when naked pictures surfaced on the Internet. Not surprisingly, the pictures and associated semi-scandal helped improve the aspiring model-actress' profile and certainly appear not to have hurt her ability to become the first "The Hills" veteran to land a movie acting role.
