Starting strong and staying stable throughout primetime was CBS' recipe for success, with the network ending up with a 4.9 rating/9 share for the night, with its nearest competition coming from NBC, 4.3/8. ABC was third with a 3.3/6 to FOX's 3.0/5 and The CW's 2.7/5.
Among 18 to 49-year-olds, CBS was also No. 1 with a 1.9, ahead of NBC's 1.7 and FOX's 1.5. ABC and The CW tied for fourth place in the demo, each with a 1.4.
CBS began the evening at 8 p.m. with another "Price Is Right Million Dollar Spectacular" and rang up the highest ratings of the night with a 5.5/10. NBC's "Amne$ia" took a 3.2/6, giving it a comfortable margin between ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" repeat, 2.7/5, The CW's "Smackdown" and a double dose of FOX's new comedy, "The Return of Jezebel James," which averaged a 2.3/4 for the hour.
At 9 p.m., NBC shifted gears and moved to first place with a two-hour "Dateline NBC," snagging a 4.6/9 for the hour. A repeat of "Ghost Whisperer" sent CBS to second, while a "House" repeat moved FOX up to third place with a 3.7/7. ABC's "20/20," 3.2/6, was enough to beat The CW's 2.8/5.
NBC solidified its hold on first at 10 p.m. with the second hour of "Dateline" scoring a 5.1/9. CBS' "Numb3rs" added up to a 4.7/9 while a second episode of "20/20" did better for ABC with a 4.0/8.
