Two repeats of the Emmy nominated medical drama "House" helped FOX top the competition in all key measures on Tuesday night.
Overall, FOX averaged a 5.8 rating/10 share on the night, comfortably ahead of second place CBS' 4.6/8. NBC was a close third with a 4.4/8, with ABC's 3.5/6 good enough for fourth. UPN's 1.6/3 was fifth, followed by The WB's 1.2/2.
FOX also won among adults 18-49, doing a 3.1 rating in the all-important demographic. CBS kept things tight with a 2.7 rating for third. NBC's 2.0 rating and the 1.9 rating for ABC weren't far off. UPN did a 0.7 rating to nip the 0.6 rating for The WB.
CBS began the night in first with the 5.1/9 for "Big Brother: All-Stars." FOX's "House" was in second with a 5.0/9. NBC's coverage of the Miss Teen USA pageant was third with a 3.5/6 outdoing a pair of "According to Jim" episodes on ABC. UPN's "Veronica Mars" posted a solid 1.6/3, beating The WB's "Gilmore Girls" for fifth.
The second episode of "House" improved to a 6.6/11 for FOX, making for an easy 9 p.m. win. NBC's beauty pageant moved up to second, nipping the 4.0/7 for "Rock Star Supernova" on CBS. ABC kept airing episodes of "According to Jim," staying in fourth. UPN's "Veronica Mars" was up to a 1.7/3, still beating the 1.2/2 for The WB's "Gilmore Girls."
NBC closed the night on top with a 5.6/10 for "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit." CBS' "48 Hours Mystery" was second with a 4.8/8, leaving ABC back in third with a 3.7/6.
