Colin Hanks

Tom Hanks and Colin Hanks are set to team up on the magician comedy "The Great Buck Howard," now set to be financed by Bristol Bay Prods.

"Buck" has been set up for some time, but Hanks' production shingle Playtone was looking for the right financing options for the film, which will be written and directed by Sean McGinly. Production will begin in July on "Buck," which may also co-star Kevin Kline.

According to Variety, Colin Hanks will play an aspiring magician who goes to work for a famous illusionist (Kline, in theory). Tom Hanks, in a supporting role, will play the disapproving father of the character played by his real-life son.

While Bristol Bay, corporate sibling to Walden Media, is fully financing the film, distribution has yet to be secured.

Colin Hanks was most recently seen in a supporting role in "King Kong." Two-time Oscar winner Tom Hanks hasn't appeared on the big screen since his animated appearance "The Polar Express," though he's about to hit theaters in a little more called "The Da Vinci Code."
