Fast National ratings for Friday, April 17, 2009
Reruns of "Ghost Whisperer" and "Flashpoint" carried CBS to a Friday-night win despite close competition from CBS and NBC.
CBS averaged a 7.3 rating/12 share in primetime, easily beating the 5.2/9 for second-place FOX. NBC, 4.7/8, finished third. A rerun-heavy night on ABC drew a 3.3/6, and The CW trailed at 1.2/2.
ABC led among adults 18-49 with a 1.6 rating. CBS and NBC tied for second at 1.4. FOX, 1.0, came in fourth, twice The CW's 0.5.
A "Ghost Whisperer" repeat, 4.3/9, divined the CBS win at 8. A new "Wife Swap," 3.6/7, trailed, and "Howie Do It," 2.0/4, put NBC on the board. FOX's "Prison Break" rerun, prepping for the show's return, scored a 1.8/4. The CW came in last with an "Everbody Hates Chris" repeat, 0.9/2.
"Flashpoint," 4.1/8, kept CBS rolling at 9 p.m. NBC came on strong with "Dateline," 3.6/7, topping ABC's new "Supernanny," 3.3/6. The return of "Prison Break" netted FOX only a 2.1/4, with The CW trailing during an "America's Next Top Model" repeat, 0.8/2.
NBC took the lead at 10 with "Dateline," 5.3/9. CBS finished strong with a "Numb3rs" repeat, 4.4/8, with "ABC" in the caboose for "20/20," 3.5/6.
