Web buzz: Wanderfly.com a straightforward “dashboard” of recommendations

Special to the Los Angeles Times

Do you have some travel money to spare? Wanderfly.com is a straightforward “dashboard” of recommendations.

What’s hot: Destination inspiration is not a new concept for the travelsphere. But Wanderfly keeps the process incredibly simple, which makes it more inviting than the competition. Scroll below the flight and hotel recommendations to find great activity tips generated by online sites such as Yelp and Foursquare. I also liked the “Connect With Facebook” feature, which showed me which friends were in a city.

What’s not: The site seems suited to one person traveling alone, so the budget and activities may not be right for a couple or family. Also, be prepared to search and search again. I found many recommendations to be off-base, but by using the “Change Trip” arrow, I eventually found suggestions that appealed to me.
